Valuation Survey
A valuation survey is a general inspection of a vessel, rather than a full survey, in order to give an opinion on her current value.
It may be carried out at the same time as a full survey.
This is often required by an insurance company or a finance or mortgage company to help to determine the fair value of a vessel.
This will depend on a number of factors such as the type of boat, her general condition, the area that the vessel is located. It is taken to be the likely value between a willing buyer and a willing seller.
