MCA Code of Practice Survey

Code of Practice examinations can be carried out either through the YDSA or MECAL for vessels operating commercially, ie. Sailing schools, charter vessels, fishing boats etc.

The standard fees are set out by the certifying authorities.

The Code has been developed for UK vessels of up to 24m in length which are engage in commercial activities, with not more than 12 passengers.

This would include boats operated by charter companies and sailing schools, by clubs, associations, universities etc and workboats, pilot boats, and boats used for angling/diving parties.
